Mull of Kintyre

March 2013 saw storm damage in the Mull of Kintyre caused by weather conditions the likes of which had not been seen by residents for over 20 years.

Heavy snowfall and high winds caused unprecedented damage to towers and power lines. NorPower personnel were quickly on site armed with the necessary equipment and plant.

Following inspection of the route by helicopter, Managing Director, Alistair MacLeod, in reaction to the extent of the damage and urgency of the situation, drew on his knowledge and his on-site team’s experience to instigate and construct temporary by-pass arrangements allowing one circuit to be re-energised.
