Project Manager
NorPower Ltd undertakes the design, supply, construction and maintenance of Overhead Transmission Lines throughout the UK with a strong focus on the North of Scotland.
Due to continued growth, we require an additional, suitably qualified Project Manager with strong leadership, communication and project management skills.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of project delivery, with previous experience in civil engineering, electricity or renewables construction industries being advantageous.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager/Project Director, the Project Manager is a key part of our organisational success, ensuring commitments to our customers are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standard.
The Project Manager is required to lead high-value, multi-discipline transmission OHL construction projects with responsibility for correlation of all aspects of a construction project including safety, environment, materials, personnel, equipment and programming in order to deliver ‘right first time’ projects.
The post is specifically focused on
• Ownership of deliverables relating to time, cost, and quality to ensure safe delivery of the project.
• Professional representation of NorPower, both individually and as part of a team, in a wide range of situations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Leading, developing and supporting the project team
• Project resource and budget control
• Building, developing and maintaining clear, robust and up to date project plans.
• Maintaining effective communication, both internally within the business to ensure optimum project delivery, and externally with all customers, developing a relationship of trust on which future business can be secured
• Allocating and managing objectives to project team members (Safety, Design, Environment, Construction, etc) to ensure all deliverables are monitored and achieved in accordance with project requirements and programme.
Skills Profile
• A proven understanding of safety, quality and environmental matters and how to manage them.
• Demonstrable leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills – written and oral – to engage with internal and external partners in a timely manner.
• Ability to be decisive to overcome challenges in a time pressured environment.
• APM, PRINCE2 or PMI qualifications are desirable.
The successful applicant will also possess the personal integrity, resilience and the robustness needed to operate in a fastchanging highly commercial contracting environment.
General
This is a flexible role with the requirement to travel throughout the UK.
