Experienced Overhead Lineworkers

NORPOWER is an overhead line business through which VINCI Energies undertakes its Transmission & Distribution activities. NORPOWER specialise in the design, supply, installation, maintenance and commissioning of steel tower and wood pole Overhead Lines (OHL) for a varied range of electricity utility companies and renewable energy developers throughout the UK, with a strong focus on the North of Scotland, including the Northern and Western Isles. Due to increasing workload we are currently seeking experienced overhead lineworkers on a full-time, permanent basis.

Work as part of a squad following instruction from the site Foreman to carry out all works associated with the construction/refurbishment of overhead lines including: –

Assembly and erection of steel towers and wood poles

Stringing, tensioning, sagging, jointing, clamping and making of all types of overhead conductors and making of stay wires

Installation of all types of insulators and overhead line equipment

Assist in supervising, training and coaching new and inexperienced staff members, remaining alert to their actions and making them aware of any hazards.

Comply with NorPower’s policies, taking responsibility for your own actions, in order to assist the Company in meeting its aims

and objectives as applicable to your role.

Participate in risk assessments and carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner in accordance with instructions, and

comply with safety & environmental rules/procedures, applicable regulations and codes of practice.

The ability to identify and react appropriately to hazards

Safe use and storage of all equipment and tools provided by the company.

Lineworkers are required to travel to site locations throughout the UK, particulalry in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, working on a 11 day on/3 day off rota.

Experienced in all tasks associated with overhead line construction and refurbishment, including working at height using permanent attachment techniques.

Good team working skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Positive attitude towards, and strong focus, on working safely.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a willing work ethic and be trustworthy, punctual and reliable.

Full UK driving license is preferred, but not essential.
