Stage 2 works on the Tealing-Arbroath 132kV line refurbishment, with NorPower again acting as Principal Contractor, were completed in September 2015.

The second stage of the refurbishment, following on from tower painting and strengthening works in 2014, included upgrading some tower foundations, replacing members on 36 towers, replacing copings on 9 towers and installing modified steelwork on a tower at Arborath substation. Working with one ciruit LIVE the LYNX conductor and insulator sets on 48 PL16 towers were replaced and earth wire replaced with 24 fibre OPGW. The OPGW was replaced with one circuit LIVE as per SSE procedure PR-PS-781.
